WHEN BUILDINGS COME ALIVE
Bengaluru Townhall is a landmark building representing the European Classical Greco-Roman style of architecture that has been an integral part of the city for more than 80 years. In the recent years, this charming building has been forgotten in the hustle bustle of the Bengaluru life. What was meant to be a cultural hub is now associated only with protests.
Well, no more. This iconic monument is receiving a temporary makeover from us, thanks to Aadyam & Bengaluru ByDesign.
Bengaluru ByDesign integrated Aadyam’s bespoke fabric with Townhall’s history to create a disruptive sight that aimed to capture the public’s imagination. Creating warps and wefts with exquisite weaves from Aadyam’s bespoke handwoven fabric collection of Ikats & Pochampalli the pillars of the Townhall was woven with fabric giving an essence of architecture, history and the rich tapestry of handwoven textile design.
Aadyam Handwoven is an Aditya Birla initiative, who creates exquisite, handwoven textiles that blend traditional craftsmanship, cultural motifs and contemporary design. Pochampally Ikat, Kutchi weaving and Banaras Brocades feature prominently in their work.
